SUPPORTIVE CARE FOR A BODY THAT MAY HAVE BEEN MISUNDERSTOOD
60 MIN | $185
90 MIN | $245
Lipoedema is a chronic condition that primarily affects women and is often overlooked or mistaken for ordinary weight gain.
You may have noticed that your legs or arms feel heavy, painful or tender, that you bruise easily, or that certain areas of your body don't change proportionately despite healthy eating and regular movement.
Perhaps you've wondered why your body doesn't respond in the way you expect.
There may be more to the story.
You don't need to arrive with a diagnosis to begin asking questions.
Could Lipoedema Be Part Of Your Story?
Lipoedema can present differently from person to person, but commonly recognised features can include:
Symmetrical enlargement of the legs and/or arms
Disproportion between the upper and lower body
Pain, tenderness or sensitivity
Heavy or tired-feeling legs
Easy bruising
A feeling of fullness or pressure
Areas that don't reduce proportionately with overall weight loss
Relatively unaffected feet or hands compared with the affected limbs
Similar patterns among female relatives
Symptoms may become more noticeable around hormonal transitions such as:
Puberty • Pregnancy • Perimenopause • Menopause
Lipoedema can also occur alongside other health conditions and experiences.
These associations do not diagnose lipoedema. If you recognise several features in yourself, appropriate medical assessment is the best way to explore what's happening.
How We Support You At Embody
Our role is to provide supportive hands-on care while helping you better understand your body.
Lipoedema Flow & Release may combine Manual Lymphatic Drainage with gentle fascial and therapeutic techniques to support:
Comfortable movement
Tissue mobility
Lymphatic flow
Feelings of heaviness and fullness
Body awareness
Relaxation and nervous-system support
We don't aim to remove lipoedema tissue or claim to cure the condition.
WE WORK WITH YOUR BODY, NOT AGAINST IT.
Lymphatic Flow & Lipoedema
Lipoedema and lymphoedema are not the same condition, although they can occur together.
Some people with lipoedema may also experience lymphatic dysfunction, particularly as the condition progresses.
This is why lymphatic health can be an important part of supportive lipoedema care.
Your treatment may incorporate MLD where appropriate, alongside other techniques selected for your individual presentation.
You Don't Have To Navigate It Alone
If you're exploring whether lipoedema may be part of your story, you don't need to work everything out by yourself.
Embody does not diagnose lipoedema, but we can help you recognise when further assessment may be appropriate.
Where needed, we can help guide you towards appropriate medical and allied-health professionals for assessment, diagnosis, compression, exercise or other aspects of your care.
As your care needs change, your treatment can change with you.
What Your Treatment May Include
Depending on your presentation, your session may incorporate:
Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Gentle fascial techniques
Myofascial release
Targeted therapeutic techniques
Breathwork
Nervous-system-focused techniques
Movement awareness
Not every technique is used in every appointment.
Your treatment is tailored to you.
60 MIN | $185
A focused treatment supporting comfort, tissue mobility and lymphatic flow.
90 MIN | $245
Our recommended option for a more comprehensive treatment, allowing additional time to work across the body and respond to your individual presentation.
Frequently Asked Questions
DO I NEED A DIAGNOSIS TO BOOK?
No. You can book if you're exploring whether lipoedema may be part of your story. We don't diagnose lipoedema, but we can provide supportive treatment and recommend appropriate assessment where needed.
CAN YOU CURE LIPOEDEMA?
No. Hands-on treatment cannot remove lipoedema tissue or cure the condition. Our focus is supportive care, including comfort, movement, tissue mobility and lymphatic support.
IS THIS THE SAME AS MLD?
Not exactly. MLD focuses specifically on lymphatic techniques. Lipoedema Flow & Release may combine MLD with carefully selected fascial and therapeutic techniques.
CAN YOU REFER ME TO OTHER PROFESSIONALS?
Yes. If your presentation suggests you would benefit from further assessment or additional support, we can help guide you towards appropriate healthcare professionals.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I COME?
There isn't one schedule that suits everyone. Frequency depends on your symptoms, goals and broader management plan.
YOU DESERVE TO UNDERSTAND YOUR BODY
You don't have to fight your body while you're trying to understand it.
You can be supported while you seek answers.
